People of God who reside at the South Wedge Mission,

Grace and peace to you! My name is Pastor Eric Madsen, and I serve at Trinity Emmanuel Lutheran Church here in Gates. I wanted to reach out and say how excited we are to be working together.

I know this past year has brought its share of challenges: the loss of a guiding light in your community, amid uncertainty and inconsistency. That kind of season can take a toll on any organization. And yet, you kept listening to the Spirit. You kept the hope of resurrection burning in your hearts. Leaders stepped up, ministries continued, and your witness still shone bright. Your practice-based discipleship truly showed through.

The most important message I want to share with you is this: you are not alone.

At Trinity Emmanuel, we believe ministry is better when we do it side by side. Partnerships give us the chance to share ideas, support one another, and show up for our community in meaningful ways. We’re grateful for the conversations we’ve already had and for the openness you’ve shown.

I am a storyteller by trade. I listen, care for, interpret, and help others craft their own stories of the divine. That is exactly what I hope to do with all of you. You have an important story to tell. One that is unique and enlivened by the breath and voice of God. I can’t wait to listen to it, help you shape it, and care for it alongside you.

Thanks for taking this step with us. We’re excited to see where God leads.

Your sibling in Christ, Pastor Eric

Shalom
peace ⟡ wholeness ⟡ healing

The South Wedge Mission is more than a church.

"Shalom" is the central vision of scripture, and the mission Christ gives us to live out. More than just peace, the absence of conflict, shalom is the cultivation of life-giving, loving, liberating relationships of wholeness, healing and thriving. Rooted in the Episcopalian, Lutheran and Catholic Worker traditions, we are a community of communities- both Christian and non Christian- working together to cultivate Shalom. Whether you're religious, spiritual, deconstructing, reconstructing, or just trying to do some good in the world, we'd love to help you find your next steps.
